Mechanic pleads guilty to fraud after charging customers for work he didn't do

A former mechanic, Mark Bryant, who is now working as a van driver, agreed to carry out work on customers vehicles, but despite charging for the work, never completed it.

One customer was charged for a new starter motor which was never fitted and a second customer took their vehicle to be fixed by the former mechanic Bryant, but every time the customer picked up their vehicle more work was needed.

Mark Bryant, who plead guilty, was handed a 12 month community order which included 200 hours of unpaid work as well as being ordered to pay £100 to the first customer, £1,100 to the second customer as well as costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £85, totaling £1,370.
