Deicing your windscreen in winter.....

You up and ready to go to work, shopping or meet friends and family, but you go out to your car and find the windscreen is completely iced over, how do you deice it quickly?

Unfortunately, every year, thousands of car owners use hot water to deice their windscreens and our advice is simple…..

DON’T DO IT, PLEASE, DON’T DO IT…. PUT THE HOT WATER DOWN

Ok, so we said it a little strong, but when you pour hot water on an iced windscreen, you risk cracking your screen which will leave you with a bill for a new windscreen.

One of the simplest and most effective ways to deice your windscreen is to simply pour tap water from the cold tap on to the windscreen. It’ll invariably be warmer than the ice but not so warm as to risk cracking your windscreen.

Alternatively, you can purchase deicer from your local car parts supplier or your local EuroCarParts.
